Neck lifting surgery cost in the US had a 2024 surgeon-fee range of $7,500 to $13,000, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). The 2023 average fee was $7,885. Anaesthesia, the operating facility, tests, garments and medicines are extra, and insurance doesn’t cover cosmetic neck surgery.
This guide is part of our neck lift overview. Prices below are US surgeon or physician fees unless stated otherwise.
Neck lifting surgery cost table
A full neck lift usually costs more than chin liposuction alone and less than a face and neck lift, before facility and anaesthesia fees.
| Procedure | US fee | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Neck lift | $7,500 to $13,000 | ASPS 2024 range |
| Neck lift (average) | $7,885 | ASPS 2023 average |
| Liposuction under the chin | $3,000 to $5,500 | ASPS 2024 range |
| Facelift (often includes neck) | $12,000 to $19,000 | ASPS 2024 range |
| Non-invasive skin tightening | $2,326 average | ASPS 2023 average |
| Non-invasive fat reduction | $1,157 average | ASPS 2023 average |
| Neuromodulator injection (for bands) | $435 average | ASPS 2023 average |
Non-surgical figures are per session, and most treatments need repeating. In the UK, the National Health Service (NHS, UK) says a face and neck lift can cost up to around £10,000, plus consultations and follow-up.
Factors that change the price
Surgeon experience, the type of neck lift, where you live and the extra fees bundled into a quote drive most of the difference.
ASPS lists the main factors:
- Surgeon’s experience and qualifications.
- Type of procedure: a mini neck lift usually involves less surgery than a full lift with muscle tightening.
- Location: fees vary between cities and countries.
- Anaesthesia and facility fees, which are not in the average surgeon fee.
- Medical tests, post-surgery garments and prescriptions.
Combining procedures changes the total. A neck lift with a facelift or eyelid surgery costs more than either alone, though sharing one anaesthetic and recovery period can make a combined plan cheaper than two separate operations.
In my practice, I give every patient a written quote that lists surgeon, anaesthesia, facility and aftercare fees separately. That makes comparisons honest.
Financing
Insurance won’t pay for a cosmetic neck lift, but many surgeons offer payment plans; check total cost and revision policies before signing.
ASPS says insurance doesn’t cover cosmetic neck lift surgery or its complications, and many surgeons offer financing. Before you commit, ask:
- What exactly is included, and what costs extra?
- Who pays if a revision or touch-up is needed?
- Are follow-up visits included, and for how long?
- What is the full repayment amount on any finance plan, including interest?
Cheaper alternatives exist for mild changes; our non-surgical neck lift comparison covers their costs and limits. Budget too for time off work; see the recovery timeline.
Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ
Answers on neck lift insurance cover, the full cost, cheaper alternatives, prices abroad and whether combining surgery saves money.
Does insurance cover a neck lift?
Generally no. ASPS says insurance doesn’t cover cosmetic neck lift surgery or its complications. Some people buy separate complication insurance. Ask your surgeon what happens financially if you need a revision or extra care after surgery.
What is the total cost of a neck lift?
The ASPS 2024 range for the surgeon fee alone is $7,500 to $13,000. Anaesthesia, facility, tests, garments and prescriptions are added on top. Ask for an itemized quote, since some clinics include these and others list them separately.
Is chin liposuction cheaper than a neck lift?
Yes. ASPS reports a 2024 range of $3,000 to $5,500 for liposuction under the chin. It only removes fat, though. If your skin is loose or you have visible muscle bands, liposuction alone can leave sagging, and a neck lift may be needed.
Is it cheaper to combine a neck lift and facelift?
The combined price is higher than either alone, but one anaesthetic, one facility fee and one recovery can cost less than two separate operations. A facelift often treats the neck too, so ask whether a separate neck lift is needed at all.
If you’d like an itemized quote for your own plan, you can book a consultation with Metropole Clinic by ABmedi. For the procedure and results, see the neck lift hub.
